@
Visible eaves filler placed the eave support *kayaoi Š•‰, and projected slightly beyond it. There are two basic types: koguchi uragou –ΨŒϋ— b, also called kiri-uragou Ψ— b, made of a series of cut boards placed cut end out; and nuno-uragou •z— b, made from a long uncut piece of timber. Nuno-uragou are used especially along the bargeboards *hafu ”j•—, and are attached with nails to the eave supports. The use of an eaves filler dates from about the end of the 10c. The advantage of its use lies in the eaves support from rain damage.
