| A gable roof *kirizuma-zukuri 切妻造, which has no gable pediments *tsuma 妻, because other structures are attached to the gable ends. Examples are Iga Hachimanguu 伊賀八幡宮 (1636) in Aichi prefecture. The worship hall, Haiden 拝殿, is 5×3 bays and is located at the front of the structure. Its roof is hip-and-gable style *irimoya-zukuri 入母屋造, and the main sanctuary, Honden 本殿, is 3-bays wide and has a flowing style gable roof of the same size on both sides, sangensha nagare-zukuri 三間社流造. The Honden is situated at the rear of the structure. The offering hall Heiden 弊殿, is 2×1 bays and is an example of the ryousage-zukuri, because its gable roof abuts the Haiden and Honden so that no gable pediments are possible. Its ridge is at right angle to the both the front and rear structures. | ||||||
