A gable roof *kirizuma-zukuri ØÈ‘¢, which has no gable pediments *tsuma È, because other structures are attached to the gable ends. Examples are Iga Hachimanguu ˆÉ‰ê”ª”¦‹{ (1636) in Aichi prefecture. The worship hall, Haiden ”q“a, is 5~3 bays and is located at the front of the structure. Its roof is hip-and-gable style *irimoya-zukuri “ü•ê‰®‘¢, and the main sanctuary, Honden –{“a, is 3-bays wide and has a flowing style gable roof of the same size on both sides, sangensha nagare-zukuri ŽOŠÔŽÐ—¬‘¢. The Honden is situated at the rear of the structure. The offering hall Heiden •¾“a, is 2~1 bays and is an example of the ryousage-zukuri, because its gable roof abuts the Haiden and Honden so that no gable pediments are possible. Its ridge is at right angle to the both the front and rear structures. | ||||||
