rokuchuu-zukuri　六注造

Also called rokkaku yane 六角屋根. A six-sided roof that covers an hexagonal building *rokkaku endou 六角円堂. Each section of the roof has a triangular shape so that the apex of each triangle meets at the peak. In order to protect against leaks, a box-like form *roban 露盤, is placed over the top of the peak. This serves as a base for further ornamentation.
