Also called *ransekizumi —ΞΟ, waraizumi Ξ‚’Ο. Randonly piled natural stones *no-ishi –μΞ, of the type commonly found in river beds or hillsides. Such stones varied greatly in size and shape and were commonly utilized for podii in the 7c. Excavated examples have been found at Asukadera Saikondou ”ς’ΉŽ›Ό‹ΰ“° in Nara. In the following centuries natural stones also were piled at random at provincial temples.
