Lit. scenery-viewing stone. An alternate name for the *gakumi-ishi 額見石, the stone from which the tea house *chashitsu 茶室 and virtually all elements of the *roji 露地 or tea garden can be seen. It is usually placed between the middle gate *chuumon 中門 and the water basin *tsukubai 蹲踞, but sometimes is placed in the outer tea garden *sotoroji 外露地. | ||||||
