Also called sanjuunoki 三重軒. Lit. three eaves. An arrangement of three sets of rafters that support the eaves. The first set are the base rafters *jidaruki 地垂木, followed by an extension of two sets of flying rafters *hien daruki 飛檐垂木, one after the other. The first set of flying rafters is commonly refered to as ichi-no-hien 一の飛檐, and the second as ni-no-hien 二の飛檐. Minoki are rare. The best known example is found at Koufukuji *Hokuendou 興福寺北円堂 (1210) in Nara. | ||||||
