Cut paving stones. The stones may be slabs cut freely in any desired shapes. The stone paving laid at Katsura Rikyuu 桂離宮 in Kyoto is an example of formal stepping stones and is considered especially creative. Sometimes small natural stones may also be mixed with the cut stones. *Nobedan 延段 is one example of paving stones used in tea ceremony gardens *roji 露地. | ||||||
