kakimayu　欠眉

KEY WORD :　architecture / decorations

Also written 缺眉 or 欠き眉. A type of carved molding *kurigata 繰形, widely used in Zen style architecture *zenshuuyou 禅宗様. It is found on the lower edges of rainbowbeams *kouryou 虹梁, and bargeboards *hafu 破風. Its cross-section forms a "L" shape.
