HOSOKAWA SANSAI CHASHO　細川三斎茶書

A book of explanations and regulations of tea ceremony in one volume, believed to be the teaching of Ichio Iori 一尾伊織 (1602-89). The book's main claim is that Yoshirou 与四郎 (Soueki 宗易; Sen Rikyuu 千利休;1522-91) was invited by Takeno Jouou 武野紹鴎 (1502-55) to Kuchirikai 口切会. The book's main claim is that tea ceremony should be done by opening new tea jar and use new tea around first part of October. [and he begged three day postponement, that once in lifetime accomplishment of tea of Tennoujiya Soukyuu 天王寺屋宗及, or tea party in snow night by Hariya Soushun 針屋宗春, Toyotomi Hideyoshi 豊臣秀吉 (1536-98) attending, et al the same kind seen in SOUJINBOKU 草人木, and as supplement CHIDORI NO KOURO 千鳥の香炉 (Chidori incense burner) and FURUTA ORIBE JIHITSU SHOMOTSU UTSUSHI 古田織部自筆書物写 (Copy of book in Furuta Oribe's own writing) is recorded. It could be said that it is a separate one from HOSOKAWA CHANOYU NO SHO 細川茶湯之書 for time being, but it might be a modified type of book. It seems that CHADOU TAIKAN 茶道大鑑 put new title HOSAKAWA SANSAI CHASHO on tea book called SANSAI CHANOYU KOUGI 三斎茶の湯口義. The title on the first page of the text corresponds to that book. Incidentally, there is a separate tea book titled HOSOKAWA SANSAI CHASHO.
