A stone pillar type of gate characterized by short projections on its transverse
members. These include the three main horizontal members: the top lintel *kasagi
}; the secondary lintel *shimaki
; and tie beam *nuki .
The pillars have a slight inward incline, and are wider at the bottom than the
top. There is also a strut, gakuzuka z, between the tie beam and secondary
lintel. The top and secondary lintels have three parts and their ends curve upward.
