溌墨. An ink painting technique. There is confusion regarding the meaning of this
term because in Chinese painting texts there are two terms, both pronounced, pomo,
which refer to related but slightly different techniques. The characters for haboku
literally mean "broken ink" and refer to a technique whereby layered ink washes
are spontaneously applied, dark tones over kyuuden 宮殿. |
