A heavy duty ripsaw. It is similar to a coarse, ordinary, standard ripsaw that cuts along the wood grain except that the narrowed end of the ripsaw has no teeth and is inserted into the center of a wooden handle at a 45°angle. This permits a very strong sawing action, and thus allows the gagari to easily cut large timbers as thick as 24.5 cm.
