1@Sheathing which uses bamboo rafters and bamboo reed for the base of a thatched roof made of coarse cogon grass (miscanthus). Other grasses, reeds and sometimes straw are used as well.

2@Alternating wooden and bamboo rafters tied with rope or vines to create a rustic open ceiling especially popular in tea ceremony houses.
